Ireland Revisited – Blarney Castle

Blarney Castle has an amazing grounds to walk around and check out. So again I am probably going to have to slit it into a few posts like I did for Bunratty Castle.

At the entrance of the grounds:

My first view of the castle:

And here is the famous “Blarney Stone.” Kissed smooth. You lay on the edge of the roof, hang over the edge backwards while gripping those iron posts, until you are upside down kissing the stone. Mom and I both did it but I’m not sure either of us received the gift of gab.

Ireland Revisited – Inch Strand

The Inch Strand is something I thought was really cool. The beach is huge and every step crackles with breaking seashells.

It was cold, windy and rainy when we were there, but there were still some hardy fold out surfing. The Atlantic is known for being really warm right?

Ireland Revisited – Dingle

Dingle is a small town on the south west coast of Ireland. It is a scenic little town, and the drive there is really quite scenic, and a lot of fun to drive.

Here is a shot from the road after leaving Dingle:

Pretty sure this is from the same spot:

This was taken on the drive into Dingle:

Ireland Revisited – Ennis

The second place we stayed was Ennis. I thought this was a really cool little town, quite a bit for the tourist to do and see. When we came in they had a farmers market going on but we missed out on getting to see what all was there. We watched quite a bit of Rugby in a pub, and the manager of the pub helped us out quite a bit by explaining some of the details, in between delivering rounds of Bulmer’s Irish Cider.

Ireland Revisited – Limerick

After getting our tickets for the banquet at Bunratty, Mom and I had some time to kill. Rather than going all the way back to Ennis we decided to go over and check out Limerick a bit. We got really lucky since we had no idea what Limerick had to offer, that we just happened to pull into an area with tons of stuff to check out.

Here is King John’s Castle:
